This short film chronicles the adventures of a 9th-grade "crew" from the Gaynor McCown Expeditionary Learning School, as they set out on their "crew orientation" -- a five-day wilderness expedition which, for many students, is their first opportunity to leave New York City. Crew orientation helps students develop communication skills, create trust-centered relationships that translate back to the classroom, and instill the drive and confidence necessary for students to accomplish more than they ever thought possible.
