Road deaths in the republic are low!. In the late 70s early 80s the average was 600 deaths! and that was with a third of the number of cars on the roads!

True...that was the 70's and 80's

Now we have much stricter rules and regulations for road safety

yet the number is still high!

This is still an issue in the republic of Ireland

that should not be forgotten or pushed aside!

you say that today we have stricter rules and regs on the road and that the number of road deaths are still high, well isnt that proof that the rules and regs that the government are bringing in wont bring the deaths down,,,,instead of the government wasting money on this stuff, why dont they invest it in having better and safer roads and road quality, and maybe intstead of NCTs they should of made driving centres where people should go to learn to drive safe like they have in america
