The drummer has the whitest teeth I've ever come across.

why was this song banned? i got a 60's garage nugget cd for my 18th birthday ;ast may and in it ; along with some other golden information, that this song was banned!
-
i'm probably not the only one to have commented that the jittery film actually makes this better
-
Than Q for posting this. SOOOOOOOO Cool of you . We cant lose this stuff ya know?
-
@smokiebird06 I heard it was a place where some people keep their heads but I've never seen actual proof.
-
Isn't an innuendo and Italian suppository?
-
I remember how many stations (AM) banned the song. Here in L.A., only KRLA played it; KHJ would not play it. It is quite tame compared to some songs that came along later, but in the 60's it was scandalous!
-
Can you believe people were worried about the sexual innuendos in this song? What about other songs like "Eat Me, I'm a BonBon" and "Here's My Dick, Chick". No one said anything about them.

The Standells still do this song in concert today. Visit the Standells Facebook page to learn more.

There were two great versions of Try It. This one and the one by the Ohio Express. A classic!

@MikeBlitzMag Totally with you on that Mike! I had both singles until recently. The Ohio Express one is every bit as good in my view.

" You look excited when you figure that it's just a bluff - huh
A-don't you dare walk away
I'll get you, dumb little chick, before you fall in love
Come here, girl, what do you say
A-just give the word and my good lovin' will start
Oh sir, my fever is pissed, they said it's straight from your heart, yeah!
Try it..."

@hardstuff72 Your fever is pissed sir! How about 'I'll set a feverish pitch that's headed straight for your heart, yeah.' Doesn't that seem a little more likely?
