Hymn to Eternity
Viktor Vijay painter, assemblage artist, Director European Artists Association has been exploring the realms that are in nether corners of existent. Through his art he is trying to arrive at what is beyond our lives and body. He has worked and exhibited for long in different parts of Europe—Germany, Italy, Poland, Austria, Finland, Slovakia, Czech, Hungry, and USA. He has enriched himself from the variety of cultural interactions and found a universal expression through his art. See what he says poetically about his present series of paintings—
It is when we see not the crystal, pure soul God bestowed on us, we in greed, covetousness, anger and harmful ways excel. We are mortal for we stray from our lighted, fragrant rose garden sometimes, we are mortal for we hate in time what we loved onetime, we are mortal for we see not the gate beautiful that opens into the landscape eternal. Our mortality into a higher space aspire, the days are brief, but why shall they in ugliness perspire!!
The present works evoke a supplication and humility to the Eternal and a suggestion that we should go beyond the mundane self centricity to offer a Hymn to eternal gods.
The American art curator Elizabeth Rogers says about Viktor present works—
This new series by the Delhi-based artist expounds his earlier forays
beyond form, timelessness and eternity, images from a vein within
the galaxy. Cutting across dimensions, he embraces the awe-inspiring
magic of incarnation, a childs perception of the mystery of life and
the world. Just like the import of iconography in spiritual works of art
(consider the stupas at Sanchi without identifiable images or
pre-figural representations of Buddha), the form(s) exists merely to
invoke the evocation, as a means of metaphoric appellation,
transmission of the underlying energy. Victor Vijay attests,
I do not need crutches, only a trigger.
