Layne, we can never please everyone in this world, if a girl really loved you, she wouldn't care about your height. I know the teasing is annoying and hurtful, but it's high school, mostly everyone is immature. You're going to be out of high school soon enough, so all you can do for now is just shrug it off. Trust me, you are really adorable, and any girl would be lucky to have someone as sweet and sincere as you are.

Playing basketball definitely helps...if you are good in it....I had this relative who told me when he was younger and he was short he started playing basketball for a while and it added up to his height some inches...so try it out..

@CinemaDust i understand completely how you feel. i'm a trans guy and i get very annoyed with how people disciminate against shorter people. I also disagree with people who say that 5'5'' is the perfect height, how would they know?

@CinemaDust see, that's what i'm saying. it's fucking disgusting. people discriminate against short people all the time and mention it to you all of the time. if i were overweight and people did the same thing about my weight, it would be totally frowned upon by society.

@CinemaDust I have complete strangers come up to me and comment on my height. If I was over weight would they do the same? I usually laugh it off but when I go home I cry...I know real manly right? People do the same thing and say "oh boo hoo". When I'm angry with someone I usually get "you're so cute when you're angry" People have no faith in my abilities. They will do stuff for me even though I'm completely capable. Even though I DO have to ask complete strangers to get stuff off the shelf.

I'm not trans, but I'm genderqueer. I'm 4'9". Dysphoria can be a thousand times worse when you're not only comfortable being in a female body, but you're short as hell. It does suck. One of the only things that can break my spirit. Today I went to the liquor store and he told my brother, "does he know he can't be in here?" my bro explained I was 24 and the man said the thought I was his little boy. HA. I get harassed and discriminated at work a lot. People NEVER take me seriously when I'm upset
