Off the field.... there is no excuse to act like that. On the field can get heated but you can not act the way he did! Thats my opinion and I respect yours.

sure he got a little heated on the field, but you can't just look at a couple of mistakes. How about him being one of the first coaches to recruit and start african americans players, all the time he volunteered at the childrens hospital and his commitment to education. He was a great man

Woody Hayes was a great man on the field??? He punched a player... many other times he ran on the field and did things that were inappropriate
Also off the field Woody Hayes... attacked a television cameraman in 1956. And in 1959 he took a swing at Los Angeles Examiner sportswriter.

The point isn't that Clemson was talking trash to him or his QB or the waterboy, He is a coach, someone that should know better and have higher standards. He shouldn't be punching college athletes. Also the point isn't that you can take a punch with a helmet on and not have it hurt as much. He hit him in the throat.

No doubt about it, the band is called "The Best Damn Band in the Land" for a reason. The performances I've seen the band put on have always been excellent and at times amazing. Never have seen them "lose" a halftime.

the clemson player he punched was talking trash to woody's freshmen quarterback Art Schlichter, and if you have a helmet on I think you can take a punch. Also you should do some research on Hayes before you make any assumptions about him, Woody Hayes was a great man on and off the field who sometimes got heated on the field.
