Are you F**KING SERIOUS? A)There's no way in hell that you could write a single song that's half as good as any of Ornette's classics. B)Ornette still swings harder than you'll probably ever be able to. Plus his chops, soloing ability, and creativity are in no way lacking in this the latter of his day. And C) When I heard how pretentious your comment was I checked out your version of "The Lamentation of the Plectognath", and it fuggin blows. I don't like internet name calling, but you're a pig.

Nice to see that the same debate, petty name calling and all, is still raging on about Ornette and his work, and has since 1958. If you don't "feel it", just ignore it and go find something else to watch. If you do "feel it", just enjoy it without paying attention to those that simply cannot ignore something they dislike without insulting it. It will leave more energy for the good things in life. Trust me.

and as for the free jazz, everyone has their own taste; but if you give it more of a chance, you may hopefully at least see the extreme talent and skill that these musicians exhibit. it might be difficult to listen to at times, but the most amazing points of each piece make up for it.

Yeah, about half way through this set he just collapsed. Unfortunately my tape ran out about half way through the second song so I wasnt able to get it. Luckily he was okay.
