Vakantie 2006, richting Sicilië. Na zoveel uren Autostrada even een pasje pikken.

  • Question for a real expert? Is this the 1.3, 1.6 or 2.0 litres engine? Can't understand. It's a bit cupe to be the Junior 1.3...

For the guy who posted before: go out n take a ride on your tuned Honda Civic :-D

  • It's a two liter engine. Maybe it sounds a bit different from what you expect because the exhaust pipe is not standard. It doesn't have the final silencer (marmita), just a straight pipe. This is what we call a 'brulpijp' (roaring pipe) in the Netherlands. It's is quite common to fit these on 105 type models (Spider, Giulia, Giulia GT(V), etc.)

  • Thank you, my friend! Expert I asked, expert i had :-D Thank you (by an Italian) for you Alfa passion too. May I ask if it was during the Mille Miglia race? If so, I've probably seen you passing by, shouting all my respect for a Duetto owner :-D

  • No, I've been to the Mille five times, but this was in 2006 when I was on my way to Genova for a trip to Sicily for the centenary of the Targa Florio (an event that unfortunately was of a very poor quality but the trip itself was great).

  • @dinkyboy61 The 2 litres always aounded a bit grumpy... The 1750's & the 1600's are the singing engines.

I had a 1600 & got got it bored out to a 2 litre... Never sounded the same... Great, but not the same.

    This brings back wonderful memories

  • jeeesus! I love this car. Anyway take it easy, is a convertible, a crash must be super-dangerous.

  • alfa four cylinder sound's better than ferrari V-8

  • Actually, if you drive it the way it was meant to be driven, with hands at 8 & 4 o'clock, instead of the 10 & 2 o'clock most of us are used to, the driving position works quite well, and your right hand is closer to the gearshift lever.

  • Grande duetto!!!!

  • What a pity! I'm very disappointed about that. I hope you will attend the Mille anyway, this year, and if you will, I'll surely block the street to steal your Duetto, when you'll pass on Bologna hills!
