Chipper Jones is the best!! He will go in Cooperstown one day!! I just hope he doesn't get hurt this year and stays healthy. But, he is the best third best man there is. He can play a game and go Braves!!
here you are wrong...maybe wright did not deserve the gg but he does make a good share of web gems more so than anyone else which is why he won it some of those plays can change games although i also realize errors can cost games but i think if he makes the routine plays he would be top notch
that's just it, he DOESN'T make the routine plays and he's also a stupid fielder. I remember one game vs Atlanta, bases loaded, one out, slow roller, instead of flipping home, Wright went for the web gem and bare handed it to first, wide throw, 2 runs score.
The players who DON'T show up on web gems all the time are the best fielders because they're good enough that they don't have to make the crazy plays. For instance, Wright's bare handed catch was totally unnecessary.
like i said even as a met fan im not gonna defend his gold glove but i do however think that overall he is a smart player...and also i feel like those who do win the gg's on average make more web gems than those who do not
thats true, for gold gloves they dont look for bad plays, just the spectacular ones like a barehanded throw to first that does make it and ends the inning, rather than the one that went wide and scored a couple.
theyre both great fielders, and while chipper may not make all the web gems now that hes getting older, hes still more reliable than wright... and there was a time when chipper made more web gems than wright ever has.
