I'm 19 and I was born without a thyroid. For the last 3 years this shit seems like it's been fucking up my whole life. If anyone can relate please feel free to PM me I'd love to talk.

I wish I could go to this Dr. I can't take Selenium (not even yeast-free) because it gives me bad lower back-aches (probably, I have PCOS). My tsh leves test "normal", but my food journal shows that soy, broccoli, cabbage, peaches, etc. will cause me large, overnight weight gain. I cannot even touch cooked broccoli or cabbage--the cooking makes no difference. I think mercury messed up my adrenals and my thyroid. I had 8 metal fillings in my mouth.

As of now, I am not aware of any such evidence. When natural therapies/alternative medicine are proven to actually work with empirical, scientific evidence they just become normal medicine.

Unfortunately, that is only your experience. Other people may have had difference experiences with acupressure and yoga. There could other reasons you got "cured", for example, you could have been misdiagnosed with hyperthyroidism or it could have been "cured" for another reason you are not accounting for.
The only way we can find out whether acupressure and yoga truly are cures for hyperthyroidism is with empirical evidence, not anecdotal evidence.

@Anon12356: This is true as I've cured my hyperthyroidism with only yoga & acupressure for just a few months, without any medicine at all! I totally believe in natural therapies, as they are wholesome & treat the root cause, not the symptoms.

This doc speaks what most docs don't even tell you! He's brilliant. I was under medication for hyperthyroidism, for 2 years...it only got worse with a lot of harmonal imbalance to deal with. It is now cured in just a few months of yoga & acupressure! :)

@Anon12356 well i am not a doctor either but have a background in the medical field for many years and have worked closely within the realms of endocrinology and he makes a lot of good points that patients can discuss with an MD. He is not showing research but has obviously learned and done enough to know what he is talking about. ND are nursing doctorates who can learn just as well about and should about physiological processes...enough to educate a patient..but i will respect your opinion.
