Did not chart, but released as a single in 1959. A polka song seems like a strange choice for a single in 1959, I think this song would have had a greater chance at success in the '40's or early '50's. However, I love it! The girls give a bright spirited rendition and this song is infectious!

  • @Blacksardine I think it's possible that managers and producers didn't know what to do with young girl groups in the 1950's, as the pop sound was in the midst of changing from an adult to a teeenage sound. Mainstream youth material for female singers in the '50's was few and far between. It wasn't until around 1961 when Linda Scott became popular, that youthful sounding younger girl singers started to talk over the airwaves. The Poni-Tails were one of the first youthful sounding girl groups.

  • The Poni-Tails, Great voices, good harmony, they could have gone far as a teen group. Who in hell was selecting the song material for these girls? Were they bent on destroying the girls careers as singers? It would seem so, as all of the songs were things the McGuire Sisters would have sung. Way too adult! It caused them to lose the teen sound they started with.

  • @FoxRunMan You're welcome!

  • Yes, a very strange choice for a late 50s pop group - what were they thinking? But thanks for posting anyway.
