I loved this show when it was on so long ago..they just don't make shows like this anymore. I've netflixed the whole Avonlea series and I have to say that it's just as good if not better than when I was younger.

Jackie Burroughs aka Aunt Hettie was actually a really naughty woman in real life, contrary to the very proper and strict character she played. As Sarah Polley once stated "Jackie Burroughs would have been Aunt Hettie's worst nightmare" LOL...RIP!

@AmericanEvita When I was younger, like around 8 years old, back when Avonlea first came out, we would record all the Avonleas, and we always looked forward to the next week's Avonlea. It is such a wholesome show. I love it to this day, and hope my daughter enjoys it too! I sometimes wish I could go live in Avonlea.
