You can learn more about our trip to Okinawa by watching my video at... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=So61FRJlsyA
www.agileH.com - Yoko Snodgrass, Tomiko Fifer & Karl Kortlandt perform the song "Mukashino Wakasa" at the Okinawa Tomonokai of Ohio's 2007 Spring Gathering. (I was alerted that the name of this song might be "mutunu wakasa". Does anybody know for sure?) The instrument they are playing is known as the Sanshin, which is a traditional, okinawan, three-string, guitar-like instrument.

  • I found an application about Sanshin in the apple store iSanshin which can play and listen Okinawa song. It is great. I am a big fun of Okinawa.

  • @odoriyaa That's awesome. I'll have to check that out sometime.

  • The best Okinawa music is to be found in Ohio. Hence the expression "Ohio gozaimasu".

  • Good point.

  • This is awsome!

I used to live in Ohio and Okinawa as well.

What part of Ohio is this?

  • Columbus, OH. The Ohio Tomonokai is always looking for new members who love okinawan culture.

  • @crow1938 親父ギャグ

  • @crow1938 Sorry that I am a year late on the reply, but I just gotta tell you that I "got it". And a good one it is I must say. Not sure anybody else cought on.

  • The members are from Columbus Ohio, in the US. Read more, comment less peoples. Just cause you've seen a few Anime's with Subtitles, doesn't make you an expert on the Japanese language.

  • @crow1938 Nope, it's ohayou, because you double the sound of the o, and when romanized you place a u at the end of the word. ^^

  • @akissy I know that. It's a joke. Only, isn't it ohayo?

  • @crow1938 it's ohayou

  • @dancintuba These are archaic, crude, and awful instruments. Nobody listens to this or plays this anymore. Every good culture evolves over time, including tastes in music. Just because this was popular X number of years go, does not excuse it for the fuckshit you suck susujskskskskskskjkjkj ass asss

  • Akisamioo! I used to be stationed in Naha AFB. This music takes me back to 1962

and 63. It reminds me of a girl named Hatsu Chyan Maeda and many friends

that I had there. I love Uchina. Nifee deebiru. Thanks for the mem'ries and

    the post. Akabu San.
