柬埔寨送水節踩踏事件已致349死 349+ Killed in Cambodia Festival Stampede

柬埔寨首都金邊鑽石島送水節慶祝活動發生人群踩踏事件，死亡人數已上升到339人。

據悉群體踩踏事件發生在當地時間11月22日夜間，在金邊市鑽石島的一座橋上。

除死亡者外還有數百人受傷。傷者正不斷送往金邊各醫院救治。

有關方面估計死亡人數還會繼續增加。

洪森總理對在這次踩踏事件中的死難者表示沉痛哀悼，要求有關方面全力搶救傷者。

洪森還下令對事件進行全面調查。

據有些目擊者稱，事件最初是因為有10人在擁擠的人群中昏倒從而引發了恐慌。

11月22日是柬埔寨為期三天的傳統送水節的最後一天。來自柬埔寨各地約有300萬人湧向金邊觀看龍舟賽和其他慶祝活動。

Theravada Buddhism is the official religion of Cambodia, which is practiced by around 96% of the Cambodian population. The country's minority peoples include Muslims, Cham, ethnic Chinese, Vietnamese and various hill tribes.[5]
Agriculture has long been the most important sector to the Cambodian economy, with around 59% of the population relying on agriculture for their livelihood (with rice being the principal crop).[6] Other important sectors include garments, construction and tourism - foreign visitors to Angkor Wat numbered more than 4 million in 2007.[7] In 2005, oil and natural gas deposits were found beneath Cambodia's territorial waters, and once commercial extraction begins in 2011, the oil revenues could profoundly affect Cambodia's economy。

police at first threw water on the crowd to calm the situation (the bridge didnt break it was just moving & sounds) & cool down revelers before using more powerful water cannons. But the water caused some people to receive electric shocks from the cables lighting up the bridge,then ppl were passing out unconscious in the crowds THAT when ppl started to panick.
