Nancy Smith, SOA Watch Prisoner of Conscience

The School of the Americas is a US sponsored military training facility.
Hundreds have put their bodies on the line, fasted, vigiled and have gotten arrested for speaking out against the violence perpetrated by the SOA and US foreign policy. Nancy Smith is one of the SOA Watch Prisoners of Conscience.

Since protests against the SOA/WHINSEC began 20 years ago, 251 people have served sentences of up to
two years for nonviolent civil disobedience. Collectively, they have served over 100 years of federal time..... while those responsible for the training of human rights violators and instruction of torture have never been held accountable. On January 5, 2011 Nancy was sentenced to six months in federal prison.

As a member of Veterans for Peace I appreciate people like Nancy who oppose the addiction to war that this country has. We are the lost hated country in the world. Why? We are the bullies of the world. Wake up America! Stop imperialism and take care of your people. Murder is murder.

Having likewise followed the original School of the Americas in Ft Benning, Georgia, I am fully behind the many citizen's of this nation trying to end this atrocity under whatever name they renamed themselves when near Congressional closing. I worry concerning the many citizen's imprisoned for attempting to bring attention of this atrocity to the common American citizenry..
