I am throwing a 15-pound bottomless bowl, one part of a two-piece "foot-soaking bowl" that I have been commissioned to make for a hotel in New York City. I've been commissioned to make 195 of these foot-soaking bowls. This bottomless bowl will be joined atop a 20-inch platter. I'll share a video later on the whole process. In this clip, I do my best to get the clay centered and spread out to about 15 inches before undercutting from the inside and pulling up the clay and then spreading the top out to about 20 inches.
That is a crazy huge order. How are you firing them? Are you doing single fire?
Do you have help with the order or are you on your own?
Very cool throwing :)

Single fire in two electric kilns. I can only fire three at a time, so when I have enough of them completely dry, I can fire a load every 10-12 hours. My son, Levi, is helping me. It's been nonstop foot-soaking-bowl-making for the past month, and it'll continue for another month.
Thanks for the comment. And send some energy this way. I'm exhausted.
