The first part and this video is only showing the train chase and railway scenes from different film adaptions / versions of "The Wind in the Willows". The film companies which made the films Wind in the Willows include: Walt Disney and Cosgrove Hall Films. The scenes of the train chase is Mr Toad tried to escape from prison by disguising himself as a washer woman and took the train back home, while Mr Toad was escaping in the train, the police chased him behind.
The films of different Wind in the Willows film versions featured the following steam locomotives:
1949 (Walt Disney) : 0-4-0 tender engine (which looks like the 1 in Furness Railway No.20)
1983 (Cosgrove Hall) : 0-4-0T GWR Holden Tank Class 121 & 111 (based on Hornby model)
1996 (Walt Disney) : 0-6-0 SECR C Class
Hope u all steam train enthusiast enjoy ^_^ ! ! !

(Part 2)

( I originally planned for a sequel of this train chase scene, which features a GWR Dean Single in 1995 animated film by TVC. However, I'm no longer uploading videos which I copied from other film productions, I'm starting to make my own animation production instead. Here is the link of a 1995 animated version which features 4-2-2 Dean Single: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s8NVfMppU3Q )

  • Anyone know how they did the crash scene? I'm assuming the tender in sight is a mock up?

  • I believe! When they filmed the crash scene, the tender was uncoupled with the engine and lifted up from the rail by a crane and placed it off the railway track, then it was covered by leaves and bushes!

  • Great video scene. However you totally wrong on the locomotive. That engine happens to be the SE&CR C class 0-6-0. AND There is no SE&CR O class preserved. There is one SE&CR O1 Class which is a rebuilt of the O class

  • Yep! u're right! Actually after I uploaded the video and I go to Bluebell Railway webpage, I was realised I was wrong! Sorry about that!

  • @Eddy2730 That's No. 592 actually, the Number is on the bufferbeam

  • This does not encompass every adaptation, but thanks for trying.

  • @Yanamation we used the locos spair tender lifted off the tracks

  • Before Theoden went to Middle Earth, he drove steam locomotives around the English countryside...

  • Being a former volunteer on the Bluebell Railway, No. 65 was one of the engines I've cleaned(!).

  • JULY 15 1996 IS MY Birth!

  • love this bit how its so crazy i love the stunts and the train comeing apart from the engine how they did they hide the real driver and fireman i also like when the driver gose crazy and gets court in the mail catch is that rally there or is it there 4 the film was it a monty pithon version

  • I can correct that. A tender was made especially for Wind in the Willows, and it can be seen in Turners Yard at Sheffield Park.
