I've got a problem. I've bought one of the new macbook pros recently, the core 1499 model and I installed the sims 3, which I had installed on my old PC laptop, but I that's not the problem, I think. I start by installing the game, and that works just fine, but when I open the sims 3 window, that asks me to do the updates to the current sims 3 version. I do the updates, and at the end it gives me an unkown error notification. can you help me?

I just bought a 2010 imac i7 8GB RAM, and my sims 3 is lagging even with everything on medium quality, any suggestions?

@JoshuaComeau Oh yes,the sims 3 run slow in 2560x1440,but you can set the resolution in 1920x1080 and it's very fast. The quality isn't amazing like in native resolution, but it's full HD and you can set the sims in high quality.
On my iMac,i use 2560x1440 with medium quality because i prefer the quality.
I don't know because in the video it seems fast, but when you take a video TS3 run very, very, very slow.
Sorry for my wrong words, but i'm an italian 14 y.o boy...
