I've played Dominion and Thunderstone. I bought this game and I LOVE it.

I enjoy the simplicity and the speed of the game. I also really enjoy the artwork!

Heh, nice surprise to see Tanto Cuore at the start. (Fun game with a few neat twists on Dominion, if you can get past the theme.)

Anyway, my main complaint about Ascension is that it's very easy to get hosed by the cards if you are trying to get a lot of buying power and only monsters come up, or a lot of attack power and only heroes/constructs come up. If they had the heroes/constructs and the monsters in separate decks, and balanced around that, I'd like it a lot more.

OMG! Normally, I enjoy Tom Vasel's reviews however this one bothered me in so many ways due to the worst description of the rules combined elements that are contradiction of the game's rules. You call the game simple but your review makes it look like you did not even read the rules.

i bought thunderstone advance and the thing i didn't like about it is that it punishes you for killing monsters by adding them to your deck. the extra gold from them is not worthwhile because in thunderstone it's simply better to have a really thin deck with levelled up heroes. i didn't like that aspect of the game. ascension i like the flow of it better
