Peter Schiff predicted the housing market collapse.

Art Laffer did not predict the collapse, said a bunch of appallingly stupid things (the United States "exports" monetary policy, so there isn't really a trade imbalance? ), and skipped out on a bet.

  • Lol... "monetary policy is spectacular"

  • The problem is corrupt government spending more and more every year. 2011 the budget deficit is 1.4 trillion. Congress is running on continuing resolutions and not even proposing budgets anymore (last 2 years). To put it in perspective, the fed government collects about 800 million a year in personal income taxes. If you DOUBLED income taxes it still wouldn't eliminate the national debt.

  • As time has proven, laffers word is worth shit

  • Who loses honor can lose nothing else, so keep your penny Art....

Now Laffer is endorsing Gingrich - and it 's actually great. Better to lose with a wise than than to win with a fool....

  • Time has revealed all ...

  • @exafc lol, nice quip Peter. Put Fart Laughter in his place.

  • Laffer has been laughing to the bank on his nonsense for decades. Be out dark spot!

  • "This isn't a 'housing' economy"....Oh, brother!

"Excellent trade policies"....Outsourcing jobs to other countries

"Sound monetary policies".....Allow banks to engage in predatory lending and allow people to borrow money they'll never be able to pay back.

Yep. Those are "excellent" and "sound" policies.....for an economic disaster and a very S---L---O---W recovery.

  • peter is right. MANY I believe at least half the women who are working at JOBS not glamorus fancy careers would rather be at home with their kids. I know because I am one of them.
