She's one of the demons that came from the darkness in Orochi's corpse. She was the whole reason why Amaterasu and Issun went hunting for the Fox Rods, which she got by killing Rao and stealing her identity. Then she ended up killing Himiko and almost taking over Ryoshima Coast. Also you find Gekigami in Oni Island.
If it wasn't for her, the game would end earlier, and the longer the storyline the better!

I think Rao was killed before Amaterasu met her too. If you talk to the lady in line to see her she says she wished she could "keep her beauty forever" like Rao did. I'm pretty sure this involves the legend Tamamo-no-Mae, which is about a kitsune who always kept her beauty and was very wise, even though she appeared very young. Everyone in the Imperial Court loved her, but she was making the Emperor sick to get to the trone. Sounds familiar, doesn't it? :P

and i also think rao was killed by ninetails before amaterasu met her because when rao asked ammy if she could have her power, that got me a bit suspicious o_0

Ninetails is a girl. Remember Issun always refered to her in a sentence like "lets drag that fox-headed wentch by the scruff of HER neck" But yeah, poor Rao. I'm sure she would've been a nice person to know if she hadn't gotten screwed by ninetails.
