This is an original composition by Julian Nalli, performed by the PDAMCA 2009 College Week combo directed by Ingrid Jensen.

The Phil Dwyer Academy of Music and Culinary Arts takes place in Qualicum Beach, BC, Canada, and was a fun week of learning jazz music with world class faculty, and cooking/eating great food prepared by expert chefs. More info about Phil's camp is here:

About this recording:
Audio and video recording, and post processing by Geoff Peters. The audio was recorded using a Sony Minidisk MZ-NH700 and a Sony ECM-MS907 condenser microphone. The microphone was placed on a mic stand in front of the band (visible in the left side of the video frame). The stereo audio file was converted to WAV and then normalized. I then applied some dynamics compression. Video by a Sony Hard Drive Camcorder and synchronized with the audio track using iMovie on Mac.

  • @DharmaRevoMedia thanks!!!

  • Thanks!! Yes, it has some odd meters. There is a section in 5/4 and then a section in 3/4 with a 2 feel over top. Great composition and arranging by Julian. Sure thing!! =) Will keep it up for sure.

  • Awesome. Great job. Was this in 7/8 or something? It had a strange beat. But still cool as hell. You should record more originals!
