Elena Zamolodchikova RUS
2005 Worlds, event finals - floor exercise
9.162 4th place

Zamo's famous moonwalk FX to Safri Duo & Prodigy music. :-) I feel she was robbed robbed here, she should have been 3rd. (Some of her jumps didn't get the credit if I recall correctly, the bronze medalist (Suzanne Harmes) however stepped out of bounds...)

  • anyone of you know the name of thi song???

  • The first song is Crazy Benny by Safri Duo, the second is Breathe by Prodigy.

  • The judges dropped Zamo's S.V. to 9.7. If I remember correcly, it was because of the jumps after her last tumbling pass. Thant's why she got such a low score. But Harmes stebbed out of bounds, she didn't deserve the bronze at all imho.

  • She fulfilled all of her dance requirements, she just took no credit for them! I can accept that she didn't have a SV of 10.00 but a 9.70? The judges slaughtered her score and it's not the first time!

  • omg how couldn't she of got a medal that was one of the best routines i have ever seen in my life

  • What exactly was wrong with the leaps at the end that lowered her start value? She didn't really hit the leaps so I can see why that would be a deduction by why off her start value.

  • tumbling was good but dancing was bad+ background music

  • How did she not become a world champion with this routine??

  • @zazezul Agreed...

  • Yeah as a former Gymnast and Gymanstics coach I think she deserved a medal. Yeah their are form deduction's that are easily seen like bent knees on the double layout but the routine was powerful and the tumbling was great. She was robbed of a medal

  • most robbed world champiocihp ever... !!

  • She is defiantly not the best dancer that I have ever seen in gymnstics, but I think her choreographer was a genius. Instead of trying to give her moves that would never work, they made her have routines where you would sort of laugh along with her.

  • Not sure how the judges decided on the SV exactly, but it's possible they didn't credit her jump double turn and cat leap double. Her 1.5 turn was also a bit short, and if the judges credit it as a full turn, which doesn't meet the minimal requirements, she'd lose another 0.1 in SV.

If she hit everything, her SV was 9.9, so if the judges gave her 9.7, I'd say she didn't get credit for the turn or the jump double. The cat double looked fine.

  • yes!!!

  • Hey, gymnast fans, I'm not much of follower of gymnastics,

but I do know that Elena has been around for awhile.

Is she still professionally competing these days?
