What is Pillerkaar? Pillerkaar (meaning soiree, party, or good time) is a non-profit folk dancing group which performs original Estonian folk dances at various events in full national dress. They are sons and daughters of first generation Estonians, their wives, husbands, children, and friends who are proud to display their culture and heritage by performing the dances of our Estonian forefathers at various functions throughout the world. Pillerkaar was founded and has been active in the Washington metro area since 1969 under the leadership and choreography of Anu Oinas. Visit www.pillerkaar.com and www.pillerkaar.photosite.com.
