The Tornado (all variants, all countries) is one of the least know SUPER jets in North America. Unless you live near a NATO used base, you just dont get to see it and gain an understanding of how powerful it really is. I am presuming that Europeans understand the significance of this jet.

To me it is not visible in the vid if he used the wheel brake or not. I can see the 1st and 2nd touchdown.
-
@stoneweapon It's not so obvious. In the video is not so visible the moment of impact. I would say that the plane was nose down, but whatever... However, I wonder, why didn't the pilot used the wheels brakes?
-
It is obvious that the initial touchdown where with the main gear. the second one hit with the front gear first and damaged it. I could not see any problems with the braking system/short runway. Tornado have reverse thrust an no braking parachute. The Reverse Thrust has been used during this landing.

@justforever96 I think that the initial impact which broke the front wheel, maybe damaged the other wheels as well. Maybe the hydraulic braking system failed even on the main landing gear. Also, there was no parachute deployed. I don't know for sure if Tornado has braking parachute.

why was the decent rate so high?

@stoneweapon what is GAF

Is most of the braking power of a plane in the front wheels, like in a car? It seems like it takes him a long time to stop moving. It almost looks like the idle thrust keeps him moving even after he should be stopped; I can see wanting to keep the engine on for the reversers, but I'd have killed it as soon as I stopped! I mean, I'm not a pilot, but apparently this guy isn't much of one either!

Fire squads were ready, it means that the emergency has been decleared at least 1 min before the landing.
This because we need tecnhichal time to get dressed up with Nomex and all we need for a safe and efficient response...
Do they really need sirens on an airfield for emergency vehicles? I suppose there is a logical reason but at this moment in time i cannot seem to find out :/
