  • I would love to have a mullet haircut. In fact, I would love to have enough hair! lol Methinks you misunderstand what I am trying to say. I am not taking a thing away from the Icon. A masterpiece of off-road technology. But for us poor folks, there are ways to get the most out of the off-the-shelf Jeep, or any other offroad truck. If I had the cash, you damn well better believe I would buy an Icon. Who wouldn't? Now, explain the tool organization remark, I don't follow.

  • @smacman68 you can put 10 cyl engine in your toyota tercel, doesn't mean you'd rather have that over ferrari. Go organize tools. You have mullet haircut.

  • Looks like the perfect vehicle to swap a Cummins 6BT into.

  • @TheFoosha Me two. It looks like tons of fun!

  • @HINUKU You comment to make yourself feel better about how poor you are. Go drive your toyota corolla to your next pizza delivery.

  • if i had 110 k i would totally buy this.

  • Incredible machines. I'd drop the cash in a heartbeat if could. I always liked the look of the old FJs, and the build quality here looks impressive.

  • The 4/11 gears were installed to compensate for the larger tires, and the dyno was taken with the transfer case in the lowest setting. Of course this skews the data. My engine was almost at redline and the speedometer read 8 mph!. With the transfer case disengaged and running normaly, the numbers would be ALOT lower. Again, I am not trying to take away from these magnificant vehicals. My point is that one can go the poor mans route and have a capable machine, that.s all.

  • @smacman68

Sorry, but with the upgrades you mentioned there nothing there that would get you that much more power. The K&N intake only gives a very slight if any increase, and your larger tires takes far more than you'd ever gain. Your so called benchmark is skewed one way or another.

  • I had my rig benchmarked before and after my upgrades. I went from 210hp/289ft.lbs to 277hp/338ft. lbs. When I am in the creeper gear with the front and rear lockers on, it's like driving a tractor. This isn't NASCAR, where HP is speed. With my 4:11 gears I can claw straight uphill with no loss of RPM. And even if I spent $20k on a hemi, I am still only at a grand total of $60k, much less than an ICON. The only thing I'd gain is worse fuel mileage. I do like these ICONS alot, still!
