One of the most awesome songs in the whole universe. True fact.

Doubt it was the 1st used in a popular song(opens up all sorts of cans)but it's being used here extremely effectivelyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy...
.This is making the Beatles look like pedestrians. -

Aha. My mistake.

@DinnerBells I'll have to correct you. The theremin, the first practical electronic musical instrument, was invented by a Russian scientist in 1918, and has been used in many musical settings, running the gamut from "Bach to Rock." Including many "popular songs" over the decades.
-
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've heard this was the first time a theremin was used in popular song.
-
Yep, it's a Theremin! Like on those old sci-fi & creepy b-movies. Nutbush is a synth. Thx for the post.
-
Even my cats like it.

@klummp I would find it quite awesome if Sonic Youth tried to cover a Beefheart song even if it wasn't that good. I love when bands show where they got their stuff from to the public so they will become interested and look into these geniuses that seem to get forgotten so easily.
