  • do you need to install codecs to watch a movie in your palm?

  • yes, they come with the software you use to play then - tcpmp

  • I just bought one off Ebay a minute ago. Should get it in a couple days. I was wondering what can you use for storage? I bought a 4GB SD card for it, but I was wondering what other storage can I use that has more capacity than 4gb? Thanks.

  • I'm afraid you can't use 4 GB SDs, I use 2 GB ones.

  • can you create new word documents on this?

  • yes. Wors, excell, ppt, txt, etc. files

  • i had one of these when it first came out. it was the first pda i ever had, and then the iphone came along after just a couple years. i got it when i was just 8.i kept using it until 3 years ago. it got dropped in some water, i fixed and then it stopped working. now anyone has an ipod touch or something similar.

  • @davronru You may use a SDHC card, with 16GB, Im using a 8GB one... You just need to install the drivers!!!

  • nice red alert 2 song :)

  • how do you stop url coming up everytime i go to home

  • Yes, I think you can install an SD Wi-Fi card, but you lose the hability to use files stored in a card (you need to swap cards very often or use the internal memory as an intermediate). In top of that, an external card will drain your batteries more than the internal Wi-Fi chip built on the TX.

You're right about the bigger screen. The TX has one of the largest screens on a PDA/Smartphone and has a bigger resolution than the rest (480x320 versus 320x240 on most Win Mobile devices)

  • Wordreference works pretty well on my mobile device (both Blazer and Opera). Telelanguage isn't very optimized for mobile, but it is readable. However, I don't have an account there so I didnt logged in to test it completely.

  • @ahumeniy

do you know that PalmTreo 700wx has a cardslot on top? you can inset the wifi card into it and have wifi.

My interest is on being able to check the dictionary really quick because in trials i should be able to interpret right away, the judge and the people is there watching so i need to be quick. Seems to me that the TX is more powerful and the screen bigger. How do you feel it? if that was you, which one would you buy?

  • tahnk you

wordrefence (dot) com and the other one is telelanguage (dot) com. Oh man you are the best

  • Also, check if you need it to be a phone. If you are looking for a smartphone, the Treo will be your choice because with the TX you still need to have a mobile phone if you want to surf mobile Internet (GPRS-EDGE). In the other hand, the TX has Wi-Fi (802.11b) while the Treo doesn't.

And off course, there is the price factor: The TX is way cheaper than the Treo because it isn't a phone and because Palm OS is cheaper than Windows Mobile.

  • It would be of help if I could see which is the website of the online dictionary so I could check if my TX can load it properly either with the built-in browser or with Opera.

Note that if a website is built for Internet Explorer doesn't necessary means it will work properly on Pocket IE (Windows Mobile).

Off course, If Opera Mobile can load it properly, it doesn't matter which OS are you using. You can check it on the Opera Website. They have an emulator you can test with.
