That's by and large because those people in third world countries are working themselves to death for twenty-five cents a day. That's a result of companies giving them either that option, or worse starvation.
The State is a natural result of capitalism. Read John Locke. The state protects "the property of the opulent minority from the tyranny of the majority."

Corporations are state created and state protected entities. What you seem to be talking about is state capitalism, or fascism. In a free market businesses must compete to serve the consumer through voluntary contracts.
The word capitalism has so much stigma it is almost worthless to use it. I don't care what you believe, if you fully oppose the state then you are an ally of mine in the battle to end human suffering.

The very basis of capitalism is greed, exploitation and materialism. without all of these capitalism cant work.
we 'complain' about materialism because we have seen the injustice of a system that allows a privileged few to have whatever disgusting desires they may want while the great majority doesnt even have what they NEED. we feel ashamed to be able to own ANYTHING as long as there are people dying of hunger for the profit of corporations.
