I have been restoring/preserving some of my family's old 8mm home movies and this is a vintage clip of my mother, father, grandmother and brother (that's him in the baby stroller) in Central Park in mid-May 1952.

  • I am trying to restore an old 60's footage from my family. Which program do you recommend to do it? I have Mac&PC&Linux. Thanks.

  • For the editing as well as video and color restorations, I'm using Sony Vegas Pro 9.0. A good portion of the final quality for the restoration depends on the original quality of the film source and the digital transfer you use... but I've been really happy with Vegas to handle the corrections.

  • I really enjoyed watching this, thanks for putting it up! The way everybody is dressed is the most interesting part of this to me. People don't dress nicely anymore imo, this is soooo refreshing to see. We could learn a thing or two from the people back then.

  • Thanks Louise! I'm glad you enjoyed it. I agree, people were more elegant in their dress back then. Something we really lack in today's world.

  • Oh my gosh. Hats, Heels, and gloves for a casual walk in the park. Today you'd pajama pants, flipflops, and mp3's.

  • You're so right. =^) It must've taken forever to get ready in the 50's...haha.

Hi, I had my 8mm home movies transferred onto a video tape about 10 years ago. Then a few years ago I paid to have it put onto a dvd. Ive never uploaded anything to youtube. Id like to upload a few sections (the family at a famous Drive-in movie that doesnt exist anymore). Do you know how I can upload only a several minute segment from a dvd? I googled it but Im confused.

  • I like the 'flying saucer' hat...OMG! I am out of toilet paper!!!

  • Love it!

  • Lovely.
