here in sweden all the farmers over 70 cows have robots. u get 20% more milk that way and there is much less labour. and the cows are much more healthier. we begun having the robots in the late 80s.

Why have these cows had their tails removed or at least the end?
-
@Tasmanzl Wow, that is good off a pasture system. What percentage of there diet is supplement feed?
-
@bowdenbolts At the moment 300-320 cows are being milked, at some stage more cows will mean less milkings per cow per day.

why do you dock tails with the robots? usually people dock them for milking in parallel parlors, but why with robots?

@caseih9000 agree, not needed with robots, but it is an existing herd....

I think that its great that you guys are using the Astronaut in NZ. Its the way of the future! How many MS do you do per cow using this system? Broacher came in the mail today from Lely with pictures of your Robots! Cheers Jeff

That is awesome! How many cows do you guys milk? Do you have any problems with cow flow (cows not going back to the robots)?
Millroader 2 years ago
@Millroader milking up to 320 cows, Cow flow is easy with Lely ABC grazing pattern. Hardly any cows to be fetched and very easy to find because they will be the last ones remaining in a break.
