  • i personally don't think we should argue about different versions. we are all basically doing the same moves. i punch, you punch. i kick, you kick. maybe it's just me but isn't that what all martial arts styles include? punches and kicks? why can't we all just get along?

  • he's got the bruce lee effect, looks like he's gonna need to slow down his moves so the camera can catch 'em

  • it looks a bit like pinan nidan from wado ryu

  • not at all, this is more likely one of the earliest forms of pinan nidan. The one I do is pretty different too, but none the less, I acknowledge that this is an older form of karate than I do.

  • Good performance.. i dnt see much problem with his look (chakugan).. In Okinawa we dont use look and then block in most of the time, as in most Japanese styles do.. We do simultaneously.. But, ofcourse he s chakugan comes little slow, when turn and do gedan barai... ut, not a big problem.. About stances, yes in Okinawa Shorin Ryu dont use deep long stances.. For wht we need deep long stances.. You can do stretching exercises seperately , if you want...

  • So desu ne- so it would appear. Since I cannot chalk it all up to being French, :) I would guess whatever martial influence you belong to has clouded your ability to see beyond your own system. best of luck to you, then. Cheers!

  • F ooooh yeah because I'm the most pretentious insolate boy of the world !!

  • and you would be able to critique this because:

    a) you are a Matsubayashi stylist

    b) you are an Okinawan Shorin Ryu stylist

    c) you have been training for 20+ years

    d) you know every styles version and form by heart

    e) none of the above

    f) you are a pompous ass?
