Actually, nobody taught it. We just incorporated all our weaponry styles and developed it on any weapon our hands can handle. But the basic of the movements were taken from baston (arnis) and tonfa techniques.

Is this a Phillipine style? Looks very much like the Okinawan style I have started learning, with a couple slight differences.

Yes, it is. I never got any training from outside our province. The sai movements of laresa only compliments the movements that are involved in the empty-handed system. The sai movements are a mixture of baston(arnis), tabak-toyok(nunchaku) and tuifa(tonfa) movements
