Interesting piece. I've seen what vitamin B12 deficiency can do to people and it's not nice!
I do worry that treating B12 as some kind of panacea is not the way forward. For mild depression it's probably better than SSRIs, even if it's little more than a placebo (much like SSRIs!) because of the lack of side-effects. Combined with 5-htp or vitamin B6 supplements I'm sure it could do wonders for mild-depression, anxiety and sleep problems. It would be really interesting to see some RCTs of B12.
People do not understand how badly this affects you, and the levels below which doctors will consider to be a "deficiency" desperately need to be elevated. And this doctor is SO right. Anti-depressants are now the answer for everything, even if it means ignoring another underlying condition. It's frustrating.
Amazing story! I was just diagnosed with a B12 deficiency (level of 72pmol/L) and i can't wait to start injections next week!! My symptoms have been driving me right round the bend and it took 6mths for me to get the blipping results... Thanks for this important story~*
A huge resounding YES! I am cured of severe neurological deterioration and fatigue. My feet that had been numb for 15 years are no longer numb and I have my balance back. A year agi I had dropfoot and could feel where my foot was. Now I have feeling and location back. I am using methylb12, the natural active form which is more potent than hydroxyb12 in the UK. Currently I inject 7.5mg 4 times a day and it is doing miricles.
I found all the reasons it doesn't work for some people. Virtually everybody with a many symptoms can heal if they buy brands and types of supplements and use them in a specific way. There are certain brands of sublingual methylb12 and adenosylb12 that are more effective than anything except an injection of methylb12 and can usually equal that. With OTC sublinguals don't need a cooperating doctor and methylb12 and adenosylb12 are 100 to 10,000 times more effective than cyanob12 or hydroxyb12.
The Lady in this video who lost her hair has now been again stopped her injections and apparently lost her hair for the 3rd time and is depressed again so so bad what happend to Human Rights !!
It can help all sorts of probs (or people are poss. misdiagnosed with probs when it is a simple vitamin deficiency) from child to adult, to list but a few -
