Some friends of mine have decided to make the switch from Windows to Mac. In doing so they wanted to get all their photos into iPhoto.
But importing them into iPhoto doesn't automatically make it easy to use some of the great new features in iPhoto 08.
Here's a ScreenCast that shows you how to get your imported photos into events and how to use Smart Albums to make it easier to access the photos you're looking for.
For better quality in full screen check out this video on my Web Gallery.

iPHoto does not store files the same way iTunes does. it stores them in an iPhoto Library folder that you pretty much shouldn't touch.
to change the title of a photo I usually click on the pictures name which is usually something like IMG_0001. If you don't see this under your pictures go to the View menu at the top of the screen and make sure Event Titles is checked.
photos in the iPhoto application are synced to your computer hard drive every time you make a change and is saved automatically

great vid, just curious tho, new to mac, and i am having some confusion to how iPhoto actually saves photos, it seems Itunes with its music automatically changes albums/artists ect to the actual computer...
meaning if you change an album name on itunes, it changes then onto your computer, altho iphoto dosnt seem to do that, firstly how do you change names and secondly how do i make the iphoto application sync to the computer and it hard drive?
cheers xx
