I remember that the Freightliners over at Trac had the airbags on the rear. Big problems when you would do a side pull recovery with the deck lowered as the airbags would slip out of their retainers and leak down. Big pain in the ass. Plus it is a Ford. Yuck.

@hopper1 Now, considering the condition of the fleet there, I don't think you'll have any problems with that nice truck. Your maintenance standards seem to be pretty high, which is good. After you've had it a couple of years, tell your maintenance guy/gal to stock at least one air bag, one full set of brake shoes and drums, a handful of wheel studs and at least one set of wheel bearings for each axle. Hope we get to see a video of this truck out on a job soon :)

I'll start with what I like. The Fords are well suited for all sorts of different vocations. For example, the "Aux" switches in large quantity. You don't have to pack the cab with extra light controllers, PTO switches etc. What I don't like: Medium duty trucks. Especially medium duty trucks with air brakes. Everything on the axle ends (hubs, drums, shoes, wheel studs etc.) is going to be freaking expensive and probably hard to get a hold of. But, it's new and under warranty.

my my, Very very very nice. Does your yard get to keep this one? Pet peeve.... "Cummings engine" which in fact he means "Cummins" Oh well.... just one of my eccentricities... All in all it's a beautiful truck and perfect for those ultra low cars they are making now a days
