This is why republicans can no longer claim to be the party of lincoln. They virtually have nothing in common with past republicans.

@Hairysteed If you knew anything about the war and it's causes (which obviously you don't), you'd know that the Confederacy was never an enemy to the United States until they were invaded.
-
@ultraback29 His ancestors tried to do that once and the great liar Lincoln wouldn't let them.

@GunnyDeuce Well said Gunny

Finally someone who knows history and calls the war for what it was.

It's the 150th anniversary of the first shots of the Civil War.
Congressman Broun, as someone who's close to people in the medical profession, I have to say your heartlessness is such an ugly site to see.
You have the heart of a traitor.
The Civil War was the greatest exercise in anti-Americanism.
Congressman, GET THE HELL OUT OF MY COUNTRY!!!

Finally a good Southern Representative who knows his history!

In Paul Broun's dream world, Obama would be picking cottong on Broun's plantation.

Why the fuck is an ENEMY OF THE STATE in the house of representatives?!?
Yes! The Confederacy is an ENEMY OF THE UNITED STATES!!
He is also on record as stating that he sent the supply ships to provoke the South into an incident. He knew he did not have support for his desired war without something to spark emotions and get people behind him. Your ignorance is offensive.

Actually, this is an accurate phrase for anyone who approaches the subject from an objective viewpoint, rather than with a preconceived bias.
