Please watch my original Sweet Tomato Heel Socks video first: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRc330...

The Padded Sweet Tomato Heel is a sister to the original heel. Trying the original heel first will make the Padded Heel easy to follow.

Both heels can be found in my eBook, CAT'S SWEET TOMATO HEEL SOCKS, which can be purchased on Ravelry or on my website, catbordhi.com.

For lots of photos, questions and answers, and lively discussion, join my Ravelry group, Cat's Sweet Tomato Heels, on ravelry.com.

I thought this at first too, but I think since you are knitting in the round at this point in the instructions, you want to knit this bit plain so it serves the purpose of the usual purl row.

hhmm...I think you said to knit straight across after the right side thanks ma but shouldn't we keep the k1 sl1 pattern even in this row?

Me too! She forgets to specify that the 2/3 of heel stitches that you start with needs to be adjusted to an odd number... wish I'd known that when I started! Still, very cool technique.

Is it possible to do this heel when knitting two-at-a-time socks?

AWwwww the sound is gone in the second half - but at least the clear diagrams show your technique. It's EZ once the methods are understood! THX again!

I love this technique - it makes such a comfortable heel. I have the ebook. I'm wondering how I could do this padded stitch for a short row toe (I find this the easiest toe to cast on and to adapt to fit as I go along). What do you think?

I had problems the first time I tried because I had an even # of stitches. Seems to work best with an odd #.
