The recent "Cash for Clunkers" program can be a positive for the modest collector, as faux classic lovers sell vintage projects to pay for their new dept burdens (time for another bubble -this time courtesy of the taxpayers via the Federal CFCP.). This - a result of the public being lured into purchasing new disposable bland autos. Yecch! $2000 freed this droptop from years of neglect and allowed me to drive her home (120 miles) at 70 mph - on an over 100 degree day. The original owner mantained her well and installed a rebuilt later model 318 20000 miles ago. Since being sold around 2004 she has been abused and neglected something fierce... Not any more... New quarters, top, paint, floor work and a complete cosmetic overhaul over a few years will return the former glory she once beamed!

  • Thanks, but she is actually quite docile.

  • Man thats a sweet machine I really know the value of those cars.I had 66 plymouth fury just like that except it was a hard top.It was 2doors and it had a factory 361 cid v8.Are you keeping that 318 in her its sure smooth on the video?

  • Yes, I will leave this motor in and focus on the cosmetics.

  • The cash for clunkers program wasn't accepting anything older then 1986, I think what he means is that he provided the cash to someone for their old car so they could buy a new one rather then the gov.

  • Yes.
