@aweirdmerox She's mean but that's because she doesn't understand what he's saying to her. She's only 15 years old and back when this movie was made, 15 was still considered too innocent to understand what love is. And he went about wooing entirely the wrong way. It's a tragic love story, much like an opera. It was meant to be a happy ending but it felt bitter sweet.
