A kind friend of mine lent me this old square neck National resonator to test. For I'm not an expert I can't say if the instrument is all truly vintage correct or not but I really like his powerful and wild voice, a good opportunity to quickly play my homemade version of Muddy Waters "Can't be satisfied".
For I played the guitar as a straight round necked one I struggled a bit with her high ( and rusty... ) string action "lap" set up, almost sawing away some phalanx in the operation.
Well, the good news is that my orthopedic got some job to do now and at least he will surely " be satisfied"... :-)
Have fun!
Ari

CAN'T BE SATISFIED Muddy Waters Open G -- Capo 2

Well I'm goin' away to leave
Won't be back no more
Goin' back down south
Don't you want to go?
I'm troubled, all worried in mind,
I never be satisfied
And I just can't keep from cryin'.

Well I feel like snappin'
Pistol in your face
Let some old graveyard
Be your resting place.
I'm troubled, all worried in mind,
Never be satisfied
I just can't keep from cryin'.

Well now all in my sleep
Hear my doorbell ring
Looking for my baby
I can't see a doggone thing.
I was troubled, all worried in mind,
Never be satisfied
I just couldn't keep from cryin'.

SOLO

My little old baby
She gonna jump and shout
That old train be late
And I come walking out.
I was troubled, all worried in mind,
Never be satisfied
I just couldn't keep from cryin'.

  • This is a super take on this classic and your "special guest" is cool!!

Not the easiest track to cover:and I like watching you play while you're singing.

Thumbs up on an A1 take.

  • Awesome my friend!! Fantastic playing, guitar and vocals. This sounds just so awesome. Love it! min :-)

  • Nice cover. Seeing you play that square neck like a round neck makes me laugh. There was an old TV comedy show called The Beverly Hillbillies. In one episode, Jethro Bodine trys to play a square neck dobro. But you make it work! Thanks for sharing. Enjoy.

  • you always cover the old songs that i adore, i admire you for your amazing taste in music !!and your talent of course
