Actually, a degree in engineering is simply a several-year struggle through stuff that gives you pains in the brain, until you become good at solving problems that would make a non-engineer cripple his head in.

You don't come out especially knowledgable in anything, but you learn stuff twice as fast as a normal person and come with better, faster and more optimal solutions. You're also quite good at handling stress and tough situations, as well as meeting deadlines.
