I don't see how killing people in other countries brings about peace in our country. As for freedom, we were much more free BEFORE we invaded Iraq, a country that posed no threat to us. I respect your son's service to his country, but as a former Vietnam Veteran, I don't think our involvement in Iraq has anything remotely to do with protecting us from our enemies as we are creating more enemies. However, it has everything to do with protecting our access to oil. I hope your son returns safely.

Well because of the men and women who have died you are able to post what ever you feel. Yes I have a son in the army, I miss him every day and it rips my heart out. But it is his right to do this for peace for our country and others who desire it. His arm was not twisted to join he did it for freedom. For us and others. I pray every day for those who are at harms way, and am very proud. Of him and all who joined. This is a is an force that joined, NOT DRAFTED.
I don't see how invading and occupying another country, imprisoning those who rightfully resist that occupation, using torture to extract information from those we suspect may have information about the resistance, and much more, have one iota of anything to do with protecting freedom of speech here. In the name of "anti-communism" the U.S. has had a hand in killing millions to "stem the red tide." Time to wake up America. This is NOT the America we all grew up believing in.
