I hear you loud and clear, I'm someone who has cut and right now I am working on the road to recovery...I really hope so anyway. @sharki11 that's why we cut. Because it takes away the emotional pain. *I say this as a former cutter*the scars from this never go away. Talk to your friend, get her help. She may hate you now, but she will thank you eventually. I constantly thank my boyfriend for saving my life.

Hey I suspect my best friend is starting to self harm.. but I don't know what to do to help her. I just don't understand how somebody can bear the pain of cutting themselves,,, I have tried a few times but the pain always snaps me out of my depression.. I really want to help my friend, any advice would be very welcome ..

I have been a cutter for some time now and i know what you mean about it being an addiction. I have countless times when i tried to stop but it never worrked out i always went back to it. I have tried to commit suicide several times and now i am under such close watch that is unbearable. It makes the situation worse. And if there were a cure out there i would probably be one of the rare few not to take it.
