  • @skwhtvette yeah i put cooper discoverer stt on my truck and they're great tires.

  • @sklerizal Yeah, that's how these trucks should've come with in the first place! That and 35" tires.

  • @skwhtvette ok cool I put the same amount of lift on my m1009

  • @taddyg

If you like the sound of mine I just cut off the exhaust before the rear axle and replaced the stock mufflers with 40 series Flowmasters, with turn-downs right out of the mufflers. I want to up size the pipes all the way to the motor, but that is a later project. It still sounds like a diesel, and it has a nice V8 roar to it too. Hopefully I'll get a turbo set up on it soon, that will definitely make it sound more like a big diesel with the turbo spool up.

  • @skwhtvette Ok sweet. Once this damn "end use certificate" goes through and I am able to pick my truck up I'll post some videos. Got any suggestions on exhaust set up for these 6.2's? I want to squeeze out as much power as possible but I also want it to sound like a true diesel too.

In my opinion, for the amount of work that these trucks are capable of doing, they are worth way more than that! All the tough parts help them to be reliable too. The open diff isn't too bad to deal with, but the limited slip does help a lot in the slippery stuff. The single biggest improvement you can do is get good tires. These Pro Comp Xtreme Mud Terrain tires were great. I definitely recommend them.

  • @skwhtvette Cool. If I could go back I would of waited for a M1028 but its my first time ever buying a vehicle straight from the army. My M1008 has 33,000 miles and no rust and only some small dents. Got it for $2600. Think I did good or did I over pay?

  • @sklerizal

In this video it has no lift. In the newer videos it has a 4" lift.

  • how much of a lift did you throw onto your CUCV?

  • @taddyg

It's the M1028. Yeah, the front diff is limited slip, (which helps a lot!) and they are set up for the troop seats. Mine had the seats removed when I bought it.
