Many of the requirements are position specific; however there are three universal requirements you should know about:

1) a US Passport

2) a MMD (Merchant Mariners Document)

3) a TWIC card (TWIC means Transportation Workers Identification Credential).

@sealiftcommand what is the first step to do ??get the TWIC or MMD??. what i need to get TWIC . and what i need to get MMD??Can you please tell me step by step. im interested to join this job. i live in Los Angeles

@sealiftcommand Greetings, once called for employment, we go to norfolk, va. Then 2 months training in Conneticut. Do we get paid while in training? Also, I live on the NW coast, perfer to be deployed out of Portland/Seattle. Are there MSC ships in my local area? thanks
