For a recent card made showing three butterflies, I've received emails asking how it was done. This is a quick run through of how to measure for and punch the raised butterflies within the circles.

Edited to add: I've received many questions on the punch I used -- it was purchased at Michaels - EK Success Border Punch -- Embossed Curve (EK-EKPL8030)

  • Thanks for sharing. This a great tip and it wouldn't necessarily have to be done with circles. I noticed a lot of people asking about the large scallop punch and I'm thinking that if you have the spell binders dies anyway, why couldn't you use them as a guide and draw the large scallops on your cardstock and cut them out by hand? Just a thought.

  • this is great. you have a wonderful talent and should put it all together in a book. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.

  • That's a really pretty card, and a clever and simple idea. Very effective! Thanks for sharing.

  • Hi Becca. I want a punch for the semi circle punch you use. However I can't find it on the intertnet. Can you give me the name of the manufacturer or where you bought it and what is it called. If I search for scalloped punch I get nothing like the one you have.

    Thank you so much.

  • Hi Becca

Brilliant card..... thank you for sharing it with us all!! I have ordered the punch and am hoping it will arrive before the end of the week. Jasu

  • Thank You Joan for the info about the punch!

  • When I couldn't find a jumbo scallop punch at Spellbinders, I tried the E.K. web site and what they have that looked like what you used is the Embossed Curve Edger Punch. I practically stood on my head to find this punch because I love the look you created with it on this card. It arrived today and when I used it I realized that indeed it is the same punch. Hooray!!!

  • Hi Becca,

Could the E.K. punch be the Embossed Curve Edger Punch? That is the only one I can find on the E.K. home page that resembles yours.

    Thanks,

    Joan

  • Hi Becca,

I have looked and looked for the jumbo scallop punch with no success. From the tutorial it looks like an EK success punch but their home page produced no results. Where can I look? Please help.
