RAF Fairford Flypast 2008

The event was the curtain-raiser to this year's Royal International Air Tattoo at RAF Fairford.

90 aircraft flew over RAF Fairford to mark the 90th Anniversary of the Air Force. The flypast was watched by the Queen, who presented new colours to the RAF

The only formation bigger than this was the flypast marking the 50th Anniversary of the Battle of Britain, in 1990, when 168 aircraft flew over Buckingham Palace.

Naturally as soon as pressed the record button in lashed down!

Sweet video. Nice footage as well. Whereabouts were you when you filmed this? I was at the gathering in Chedworth, Cheltenham when I saw it. And what an event too.

Not to far away from Chedworth, I was at Foss Cross on a little lane that goes to Coln St. Rogers.

I had thought about going to the old airfield at Chedy but thought all the trees and the flat lye of the land may be obstructive.

i was wid the queen that day and as soon as the parade finished it pissed it down and my uniform got soked :D couldnt even dry it in the tent cus it was leaking:P bst riat ever and bst guys iv eva met there xxx

I was just up the road from you in a farmers gateway under a green fishing brolly, it did rain a bit.

Strange, i was on the airfield but quite far up away from the starting area of the flypass. Im guessing you were under one of them rain clouds that appeared every minute.
