Golden Knights Tandem Skydiving - Walt Townshend (Baltimore Washington Corridor Chamber)

On June 2/3,2009 I had the great privilege of participating in the ARMY STRONG EXPERIENCE at Fort George G. Meade, MD. In addition to demonstrations and hands-on participation with the U. S. Army Marksmanship Team, I had the opportunity to make a tandem jump with the United States Army Parachute Team, the Golden Knights. Flying from Tipton Airfield, we climbed to 10,000 feet and relying on my jumpmaster, SSG Joe Jones, we left a perfectly good airplane(!), landing on the Fort Meade Parade Field below. Another Golden Knight, SFC Eric Heinsheimer, was the videographer responsible for this footage. To the Secretary of the Army, LTG Freakley, Col. Fenzel and Col. Thomas—along with all the tremendous men and women of the United States Army who selflessly serve our country, I say THANK YOU for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
