The Volvo Ocean Race stopped in Galway at 4:00 am GMT on May 25th, 2009. When I got down there, the Ericsson III, Ericsson IV, Green Dragon, and Telefonica Blue, and Puma had already arrived and been raised. The Telefonica Black was raised onto trestles shortly after my arrival, so I taped it. (Delta Lloyd and Team Russia had yet to arrive).

I had to hold the camera at a pretty awkward position to actually shoot the yacht and not the backs of people's heads, so unfortunately there's quite a bit of wobble in this vid.

This doesn't do justice to the sheer size of the yachts. Seriously, they're freaking HUGE. The rudder on the underside is about the height of a tall man.

The boats had arrived from Boston, and will be going on to Marstrand in about a week.
